Who’s Really Sneaking Around to Take Your Benefits?
House Republicans are meeting at 1AM to slash our health care and food assistance, so they can hand billions to their wealthy donors.
They love to talk about “theft.”
They accuse struggling families of taking what they don’t deserve. They talk about “fraud,” “handouts,” and “people coming in the night to take what’s not theirs.”
I saw it in a comment on yesterday’s post, a message dripping with hate, blaming immigrants for everything wrong in this country.
But do you know who’s actually doing that right now?
Republicans in Congress.
Tonight, literally at 1AM, House Republicans are holding a vote to jam through a budget that would:
✅ Take away health care from millions of Americans
✅ Cut food assistance for families and school kids
✅ Slash Medicaid and school meals
All so they can give Trump’s billionaire donors another massive tax break.
They aren’t doing this during the day. They’re hoping you won’t notice. That we’re too tired, too busy, or too discouraged to pay attention.
But this is how the game works:
They call people lazy and undeserving while gutting programs that help working families survive.
They scream about “government spending” while handing out tax breaks to billionaires.
They vote in the middle of the night because they know the majority of people would be outraged.
And no, it’s not the vulnerable who are “stealing.”
It’s the powerful taking our health care, our kids’ meals, and our future to fund more yachts and private jets.
So if they want to talk about “thieves in the night,”
Let’s start with the House Republicans meeting at 1AM to take from working families and give to billionaires.
