The MAGA regime is throwing a tantrum. A loud, reckless, dangerous tantrum.
After a brutal week of losses in courts across the country, tRumP’s Justice Department and the FBI arrested Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan. She faces two felony charges after allegedly trying to prevent ICE from detaining an undocumented immigrant outside her courtroom.
This is important. ICE had an administrative warrant rather than a judicial warrant, and Judge Dugan asked them to produce a judicial warrant.
While we are still learning details about the case, one thing is already clear: this arrest was about fear. It was about retaliation. It was about sending a message to the entire judiciary.
And it is happening at a moment when tRumP* is getting pummeled in courtrooms everywhere.
Just in the past week, federal judges blocked him from using a law from the 1700s to disappear immigrants without a hearing.
Judges ordered him to return not one, but two men he sent to a prison in El Salvador.
Judges blocked his attacks on transgender Americans.
He lost in court in trying to shut down the Voice of America media outlet.
They shut down his attempt to hijack election systems and hand over voter rolls to billionaire donors.
They ruled against his attempts to punish sanctuary cities.
They stopped his ideological punishments against schools.
On Friday, the Justice Department was forced to reverse course after dozens of judges blocked tRumP’s illegal mass termination of foreign students from a federal tracking database, calling it flagrantly illegal.
And this one wasn’t from a judge, but it’s still fun to hear that tRumP’s book ban got vetoed by a Republican governor who could read the writing on the wall.
Court after court has told him: This is not medieval times. This is the United States of America.
And tRumP*, instead of accepting that reality, responded the way bullies always do when they lose: he lashed out.
By the way, if you need a little bit of hope, I shared these judicial wins and other highlights in yesterday’s edition of ✨The Bright Side✨.
Go check it out; it is a reminder that even in hard times, we are winning important battles.
✨The Bright Side✨ #5 - Speaking Up Works
It is easy to miss the good when there is so much noise. But this week, the wins were loud and clear.
The arrest of Judge Dugan was not quiet or routine. It was staged for maximum humiliation. Officers handcuffed her in public at the courthouse.
FBI Director Kash Patel posted about it on social media, deleted it, and reposted it to make sure the spectacle stayed in the headlines.
Attorney General Pam Bondi immediately ran to Fox News, attacking the judiciary, calling judges “deranged,” and boasting about sending a message to anyone who dares to stand in tRumP’s way.
As legal analyst Anna Bower pointed out, “If you are a prosecutor who is serious about obtaining a conviction, you do not go on Fox and talk about the (alleged) facts of the case like this.”
From the outside, it looks less like serious law enforcement and more like political theater.
And the tantrum did not stop there.
Trump also announced that his Justice Department is now investigating ActBlue, the fundraising platform that powers almost every Democratic candidate and cause. He is targeting the infrastructure that supports his political opposition while feeding the baseless conspiracy theories his supporters love.
At the same time, he is running a personal money-making scheme out of the presidency. Trump launched his own meme coin called “Trump Money,” encouraging people to buy it to move up a leaderboard for the chance to have dinner with him.
The more you buy, the closer you get to the president. 🤮
It is not a campaign fundraiser. It is just personal income for him while he serves as president.
And according to multiple reports, millions of dollars are already pouring into this scheme, including from overseas. The top account so far, with a stake worth more than 13 million dollars, is registered through a crypto exchange founded in China.
This is what corruption looks like in real time. The same day he announced a crackdown on Democratic fundraising, Trump is openly selling access to himself and the White House for personal profit.
All of it — the arrests, the investigations, the grift — is about one thing: keeping power by any means necessary and silencing anyone who stands in the way.
But let’s go back to Milwaukee, where the people are fighting back.
In Milwaukee, a huge crowd of protesters gathered outside the courthouse, chanting for justice, standing arm in arm in support of Judge Dugan, and showing the kind of courage the regime fears most: the courage to stand together.
Legal experts, including conservative former judges, are warning that what happened to Judge Dugan is part of a much larger pattern. It is not about one courtroom or one case. It is about trying to break the only branch of government that still stands in Trump’s way.
Judge Dugan has spent her career committed to the principles of due process and the rule of law. She deserves a fair process now. And we deserve a country where judges can do their jobs without political threats or public humiliation.
This is not normal. This is not acceptable. This is not who we are.
We must call it out for what it is: a tantrum by a losing regime that will do anything to cling to power.
We must demand justice. We must refuse to be intimidated.
Because if we let them silence the judges, they will not stop there. They will come for the rest of us, too.
What now? What can you do?
If you are feeling angry, frustrated, or powerless after reading all of this, you are not alone. But you are not powerless.
There is a national day of protest coming up on May 1st: May Day.
Across the country, people are gathering under the banner of May Day Strong to show that we will not sit back while our rights, our freedoms, and our democracy are under attack.
Some events will happen on May 1st, and others will take place over the weekend, but the message is the same: we are standing up, together.

This is a moment that calls for action, not despair.
They are throwing a tantrum because they are losing.
It is up to us to make sure they keep losing by showing up, speaking out, and standing together.
* My daughter asked me to start capitalizing the P in tRumP because she says it stands for Pathetic and Pointless. She also says the R is for Ridiculous. She’s very proud that I shared this with you in my newsletter, LOL!
