Thank you for highlighting the candidacy of a young woman who represents, I think, not only the concerns of Americans across demographics but relatability in her economic marginalization. A personal story which includes homelessness, the stress of working at night to support your academic aims and a nascent bid for political organizing as a 16-year-old are aligned to reach a great number of people who feel disenfranchised by their political representatives, like their voices are never heard.

Yes, her youth is apparent, as is her fluency in building an audience on social media, which may draw easy comparisons to AOC (not a deficit in my opinion). Why intellect, command of language and reachability should be dismissed out of hand because of a growing TikTok profile is absurd. Social media when the tack is considered, thoughtful and resonates with your audience is a modern lever for Deja Foxx to utilize, to incentivize in her path forward.

I wish her every success and thank her for her candidacy.

Deja is one of a number of young, intelligent, talented, progressive women who are either running for office or are in office. She fire!🔥

There's no reason she shouldn't be on social media! Look at all the voters Joe Rogan brought to Trump through his podcasts. I love Deja! She is what the country needs. Sadly I live in Wisconsin so I can't vote for her!

I live in Oregon so I can't vote for her either, but that's why I want to spread the word!

I heard Deja interviewed on a Substack live a few weeks ago (might have been Katie Phang) and was so inspired by her knowledge, experience & ability to communicate that I immediately checked out her website and made a donation. Age should never be a deciding factor. I want the smartest person on the bus in Congress! In my humble opinion Deja is the one! Her life experience has shaped her and she should be very proud of what she is accomplishing. I’m rooting for you Deja! (I’m just an older white woman from NY state who recognizes excellence when I see it😉).

Deja Foxx is right, social media is the newspaper of tomorrow. Democrats desperately need a new media strategy (amongst other things!) because no matter how good your policies are, if you can't get the message out, what's the point.

Social media is immediate, it's readily available to all (who HASN'T got a phone today), easy to share, and the dinosaurs of the current DNC need to accept this.

Chances are, it's also MUCH cheaper than billboards, newspaper ads, and TV slots.

Deja's background also means that people will relate to her in ways that they can't to 'elites'.

Good luck to this young woman, she is the future.

Thank you for allowing me to comment. Thank you for highlighting Deja & supporting her. I am not in her district; I live just north of CD7; I am in CD6. I have been donating and amplifying her content on Bluesky. Its tough to beat a Grijalva but I remain hopeful. I am over political family legacy. We can hope voters will be more informed and vote for a highly qualified, dynamic candidate.

I heard about her on Substack and I was completely blown away when I heard her interviewed. Smart, fierce and obviously qualified to speak to young people in this country. She gives me hope for the future.

Wow. How impressive is she!!

OK now, for the first time in my life, I want to vote in 2 states I don't live in.

New York and Arizona.

Thanks for sharing this.

It gave me hope. Which has been in short supply lately.

Take a little break, do something you love... and maybe it will help you recharge your "hope jar" just a bit.

I've been hiding like an ostrich since Thursday because I've been so so so sad after the passing of the budget bill, but I will take some time for myself to recharge and I will be back in the fight. We are not giving up!
