Latino Voters and the 2024 Election: What the Data Really Says
The Latino vote shaped the 2024 election in powerful ways. Here’s what the data reveals—and why it matters for our future.
The 2024 election is over, but if we want to build a better future, we need to understand what really happened. And when it comes to the Latino vote, there’s a lot to unpack.
Of course, I have to remind you of the one thing that we always repeat when we talk about Latinos. We are NOT a monolith, and the data from Navigator confirms it. Latino voters are diverse, not just in background and experience but in how we prioritize issues.
In 2024, the economy took center stage.
Rising costs, inflation, and the daily struggle to make ends meet were top of mind. And while Kamala Harris won the Latino vote overall, the numbers show a significant shift. Trump gained ground, especially among Latino men.
Let’s pause here.
This is where the finger-pointing often starts. But here’s the thing: the story isn’t about blame—it’s about listening. The data tells us that many Latino voters didn’t feel their struggles were fully addressed.
They want leaders who will bring down costs and protect their families, not politicians caught up in partisan battles or pushing extreme policies.
This is why Navigator’s work is so important. Their data helps us cut through the noise and focus on what matters. It shows us where we’ve fallen short and where we have opportunities to do better.
So what’s next? For me, it’s about keeping this conversation going. We can’t afford to ignore the shifts we’re seeing among Latino voters. I will continue informing people about what is going on, giving information from reputable and trustworthy sources, and helping them understand how they can get involved to build a better future.
These trends aren’t permanent, but they’re a wake-up call. It’s on all of us to ensure our communities feel seen, heard, and supported.
If you’re as curious as I am about what shaped this election, I encourage you to explore the data for yourself. Click this link to read Navigator’s data from a post-election survey among 5,000 self-reported 2024 general election voters.
Navigator is doing the work to make these insights accessible to all of us. Let’s make sure we’re paying attention and DO SOMETHING about it!
Stay informed, stay engaged, and remember: when we understand the data, we can create the change we need.
